Any ideas for a “peaceful” atmosphere at home?

I’m trying to furnish my first apartment with some style. My idea is to keep is somewhat modern, yet comfortable, and peaceful. I want it clean, but somewhere I can relax and enjoy my time at home. However, I have a problem deciding what furniture to put in what room and what it should look like… wood, metal, wicker? If anyone knows of some great websites… OTHER than Ikea :) please let me know!

      sounds like fun! What my family has done is design our rooms in light, delicate colors so that even when it’s cloudy outside, it still seems bright and sunny inside. We used bright green and white curtains with a lot of those fake trees and garlands to create a natural atmosphere. Just keep it simple, as in don’t use too much furniture. Add a bit of culture to it, too. Less is more, remember that. Less furniture and more space, but with color! Make it into your world!

      The clothing isnt very cheapat least the clothing isnt urban outfitters also has some cool stuff anthropologie you has some really cheap no it isnt very.

      wood always makes for a warmer atmosphere. wicker looks cheap. metal looks harsh. try or
